not sure if this has been suggested, or whether it possibly even already exists, but was wondering if a feature could be implemented enabling you to page a user on zone by phone. so, you would send a page and the user would hear a sound and a voice (ather is it?) saying "page from".. and then the name of the person, you could then ignore/respond as appropriate.
I'm not explaining myself very well here am i - it's early in the morning so if it doesn't make sense then I will reword later, lol.
I get it. and I like it! I can see it being wicked difficult to actually put in place, though. If it's possible though, go for it!
I'll have to think about this. It wouldn't be possible to page someone who is in a conference without removing them from the conference to receive the page.
That's okay. In some ways, that's the point.
okay, questian. What if your in the middle of a conversation and someone pages you? or, what if you don't want to be paged by someone at all, but they keep doing it over and over? just something to think about. I just think that paging a person in confrence would be anoying for the whole confrence, specially if people are paged every 2 minutes. It is a good idea, but I can't see how it could work without disrupting the whole confrence.
It probably would disrupt the entire conference. We have this feature on another system I call, and although it's cool (because you can get real-time pages), it's annoying when you're in a conference talking to someone, and all of a sudden they disappear to get a page.
It would be nice though if someone is in a private conference, you have no way to alert them to the fact you're about and might like to talk to them, so then it would be cool.
exactly kev. although I don't use the system that much, on the occasions I have, there have been people I've wanted to talk to that were in private conferences and it would have been nice to be able to alert them to the fact you were there.
maybe it could be a bit like call waiting that some phone companies have, you get a beep in your ear which the others wouldn't hear, and you could then either choose to take it, after excusing yourself from the conference, or mute it, in which case the pager would be diverted to the voicemail menu where they could leave you a message to be listened to later.
Obviously I don't know the technical ins and outs of whether it's possible so we suggest, those in the know say yay/nay.
